Thailand: Toyota introduces 2024 Fortuner with more power & tech

There is currently no official confirmation whether or not Toyota will bring the same updates to the India-spec SUV

Toyota has introduced the MY2024 version of its popular Fortuner SUV in Thailand. The new Thai-spec Fortuner SUV comes with a host of upgrades, including increased power output, added tech and other safety features.

The base-spec 2024 Fortuner (Leader variant in Thailand) now comes with TPMS as standard, along with a new Silver Sky Metallic colour option. The mid-spec Fortuner Legender (LTD variant in Thailand) also gets TPMS, a larger 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless charging.

The top-spec 2024 Fortuner GR Sport trim also gets tech and feature additions. However, the biggest change is the updated 2.8-litre engine which now puts out 224 BHP and 550 Nm - 20 BHP and 50 Nm more than offered previously.

The addition of the new features, tech and updated engine also brings in a substantial price hike. Depending on the variant, the 2024 Toyota Fortuner in Thailand now costs anywhere between Rs 35,500 - Rs 1 lakh (THB 15,000 - THB 40,000) more than the previous model.

There is currently no official confirmation whether or not Toyota will bring the same updates to the India-spec Fortuner anytime soon.
