Tesla leases its first office space in Pune

Tesla's first office in India is located at Panchshil Business Park in Viman Nagar, Pune.

Tesla's Indian subsidiary, Tesla India Motor & Energy Pvt Ltd, has leased an office space in Pune. It will be the EV maker's first office in India.

Tesla's new office is spread over 5,850 sq. ft. It is located at Panchshil Business Park in the Viman Nagar area. The building is said to be operated by Tablespace Technologies.

According to media reports, the starting monthly rent for this office space is Rs 11.65 lakh. The lease is for 5 years and there is a provision for renewing the lease for another 5 years. The lock-in period is 36 months and the rent commencement date is October 1, 2023.

Tesla has had several discussions with the Indian government. During a recent meeting with officials, the company expressed interest to bring its own supply chain ecosystem to the country. Reports suggest that the government wants EV makers to adopt Apple's strategy and find local partners who can collaborate with Chinese suppliers.
