Honda has started testing the tenth-gen Accord. The car was recently spotted for the first time in the USA under heavy camouflage. It is expected to be unveiled in the second half of 2017, with deliveries starting from early 2018.
Though not much can be judged from the heavily camouflaged exteriors, the new Accord does appear to get a more upright face than the ninth-gen model it will be replacing. Honda is expected to borrow the 2016 Civic's platform for the Accord. The car will also share various design characteristics with the Civic, though it will get a more upright stance than the Civic's sporty one.
Powertrain options are likely to include improved versions of the existing engines. The V6 engine might be discontinued due to the global inclination towards smaller capacity engines. A hybrid variant will continue to be offered as well.
Strangely, Honda Cars India recently started testing the ninth-gen Accord in India. The car is slated for a launch next year. As a result, while global markets will receive the tenth-gen model, Honda will launch the ninth-gen Accord in India in 2017.
