Yes, this is Tata's newest entrant into the budget hatchback segment, all set to be unveiled next week.
This new hatchback from Tata known as the Zica carries a contemporary design, and Tata has finally broken away from the aging Indica design. This car has a downward sloping bonnet, a prominent waistline and some sharp character lines, which makes it appear a lot lower than what it is and gives it a squat stance.
It wears a prominent smiling honeycomb front grill with swept back halogen headlamps. The "humanity line" (in chrome), running across the width of the face (grill and headlamps), is also present. The car spotted also gets chrome fog lamp surrounds, 14" alloy wheels, integrated indicators on the ORVMs, reverse parking sensors, rear wiper + washer, rear windscreen defogger and a roof-mounted spoiler. The exterior paint looks like a newer shade too.
The Zica will be manufactured at Tata's plant in Sanand, Gujarat. It will be available with a 1.05 litre diesel and a 1.2 litre petrol engine. A new sub-4 metre compact sedan, based on this hatchback, is expected to be launched later.
