Tata is believed working on a sunroof for the upcoming Safari. While the SUV is scheduled to be unveiled on January 26, 2021, the sunroof-equipped version may not be ready by then. Inside sources say that the vehicle can be expected at a later date with the likely timeframe being Q2, 2021.
Contrary to rumours, since the Safari has a stepped roof, it may not get a panoramic sunroof. The car's competition, like the MG Hector Plus, offer a panoramic sunroof. The upcoming second-gen Mahindra XUV500 could also get a panoramic sunroof.
The styling of the new Safari is similar to the Harrier. On the inside though, it will get a third-row of seats. It is expected to be offered with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine producing 170 BHP and 350 Nm of torque. The engine could be mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
