The Nexon automated manual transmission (AMT) will debut in the XZA+ trim (prices aren't revealed yet). Bookings for the same have now commenced across all authorised Tata dealerships for Rs. 11,000.
The AMT version of the Nexon is similar to the regular car, save for a few changes. Tata is offering a new dual-tone orange and silver exterior colour option along with the regular shades. Inside, the AMT version obviously gets a different gear lever. Apart from this, it has all the features from the XZ+ MT variant - a 6.5-inch floating touchscreen system with Android Auto, multi-functional steering wheel, climate control, electric ORVMs, height-adjustable driver's seat, a wearable smart key similar to the Land Rover Activity key etc.
The Nexon XZA+ variants will be offered with the petrol and diesel, both. The 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol puts out 108 BHP and 170 Nm, while the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel unit produces 108 BHP and 260 Nm. Both are paired with a 6-speed AMT gearbox. This makes the Nexon the only compact crossover to come with a diesel automatic option. It has Eco, City and Sport modes, just like the manual version. Further, the AMT gets hill start assist, creep function, anti-stall and kickdown functionality.
Dual airbags, ABS with EBD and parking sensors with a reversing camera come standard on the Nexon AMT.
