Tata Motors starts accepting online bookings for the Bolt

Tata Motors has started accepting bookings for the upcoming Bolt hatchback.

Booking can be done online by making a payment of Rs. 11,000. At present, customers can only choose between petrol and diesel versions of the car. Information about the various trim levels and the final price will available only at the time of launch.

The Zest will be available with a choice of two engines - one petrol and one diesel. The petrol unit is a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged, power plant from the company's Revotron engine family. It produces 90 PS and 140 Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The engine has three driving modes - City (default), Eco and Sport, which alter the car's throttle response. The diesel engine is the familiar 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder, Quadrajet unit, which develops 75 PS and 190 Nm of torque.

The Bolt is equipped with features such as anti-lock braking system (ABS), Corner Stability Control (CSC) and a Harman-developed touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone-based navigation.

The Bolt will compete with other hatchbacks such as the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 and Elite i20, Volkswagen Polo, Toyota Etios Liva and Fiat Punto.
