Tata launches CNG variants of Indigo and Indica

Tata Motors has rolled out CNG variants of its Indigo sedan and Indica hatchback. The Indigo eMAX and Indica eMAX, as they are known will be available in six markets across India, namely Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Tripura.

Both cars are powered by bi-fuel (petrol and CNG) engines.

The Indigo eMAX is powered by a 1.2 litre 4-cylinder engine that develops 65 bhp and returns 24.6 km/kg. It has a range of up to 230 km in CNG mode over 650 km in petrol.

The Indica eMAX returns 23.7 km/kg has a range of up to 230 km in CNG mode over 600 km in petrol.

Tata has priced the Indigo eMAX GLS at Rs. 4.99 lakhs, and the GLX at Rs. 5.27 lakhs ex-showroom (Delhi). The Indica eMax GLS costs Rs.3.99 lakhs while the GLX is priced at Rs. 4.26 lakhs ex-showroom (Delhi).

With low price tags and high fuel efficiency, these cars will appeal to those who are looking for something spacious and easy on the pocket at the same time.
