Last month we had reported that Tata Motors had started testing a compact sedan based on the upcoming Kite hatchback. Now, the car has been spotted testing once again - this time at the Kari Motor Speedway in Tamil Nadu.
The car's presence at the southern race track suggests that Tata Motors could be fine-tuning its ride, handling, performance and braking. The Kite's durability and reliability could also be on test.
The spy image shows the car with a wider grille compared to the Indigo eCS, which it is expected to replace. The bumper has a large air dam and the headlights are swept back like those on the Zest and Bolt.
The Kite is likely to be powered by Tata's new 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder Revotron petrol engine, but, without a turbocharger. The diesel variant of the car will get a new 1.05-litre unit. The Kite is likely to come loaded with features, making it a value for money product like other cars from Tata Motors.
