Tata Motors is updating the infotainment system in the JTP versions to be compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Some 40 units of the high-performance version are said to be in production. The next batch of cars is likely to receive the updated infotainment system.
Earlier this week, Tata Motors introduced Apple CarPlay in the XZ+ variants of the Tiago and Tigor that come equipped with the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. At present, the JTP versions of the Tiago and Tigor come with a smaller 5-inch unit. It is likely to be updated to a 7-inch unit offered in the XZ+ trim.
The Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP were launched in October 2018. Both cars are powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 112 BHP @ 5,000 rpm and 150 Nm of torque @ 2,000-4,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
