South Korea: Production-ready Hyundai Casper EV spied

It is based on the same platform as the Exter and the Grand i10.

Hyundai has been working on an all-electric version of its small SUV offering, the Casper, for the international markets. Now, spy shots of what is said to be a production-ready version of the upcoming Hyundai Casper EV have leaked online. According to reports, the production-ready Casper EV was spied undergoing tests in South Korea.

While the small electric SUV was covered in camouflage, a few design details of the upcoming model could be seen. These include the new full-LED headlights and the pixel-style taillights at the rear. Reports also suggest that the Casper EV will have a slightly longer wheelbase (25 cm extra), improving legroom at the rear. The increased wheelbase is to allow for a larger battery pack, which is said to offer the Casper EV a range of 320 km on a single charge.

The Hyundai Casper EV is based on the brand's 'K1 platform', which also underpins other small cars in its lineup. This includes the Grand i10, Exter and even the ICE version of the Casper.

Powertrain details of the Casper EV are yet to be revealed.
