Sales of the Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo were halted last month following a trademark dispute with the Monte Carlo Fashions - a clothing company. A court ruling had forced Skoda from advertising, manufacturing and selling goods with the “Montel Carlo” name. Now, Skoda has re-launched the Rapid Monte Carlo with a new name. It is called the Rapid Edition X.
An advertisement published in a local newspaper confirms that the same Rapid Monte Carlo has been re-introduced as the Edition X. All the unique features like the black grille, dual-tone front bumper, smoked headlights and fog lamps, blacked-out roof and B-pillar, black alloy wheels, etc. are expected to be carried over from the Monte Carlo. Similarly, interior equipment is likely to remain unchanged.
