Skoda Octavia vRS may not come to India

The new Octavia RS is available with a 2.0-litre, turbo-petrol engine that produces 241 BHP and 370 Nm.

According to a Twitter post, Skoda is unlikely to launch the fourth-generation of the Octavia vRS in India.

Earlier reports suggested that the vRS maybe sold as CBU. However, this would make the performance-oriented variant of the Octavia too expensive. The previous-generation vRS 245 was sold as a CBU which made it expensive and hence it was a slow seller.

In Europe, the new Octavia RS is available with a 2.0-litre, turbo-petrol engine that produces 241 BHP and 370 Nm. The engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The ride height of the RS has been lowered by 15mm and it comes with dynamic chassis control with electronically adaptable suspension and a limited slip differential.
