According to a media report, the Volkswagen Group has resumed production at its Aurangabad factory.
The company's Aurangabad facility had sought permission from the Maharashtra government to restart operations. The plant will operate on a single shift basis for now. The carmaker will follow a 60 point 'Start Safe' standard operating procedure (SoP) and will adhere to all safety measures and guidelines laid out by the government.
The report states that the company has also started working on the compact SUVs based on the MQB A0 IN platform that are scheduled to be launched under the India 2.0 strategy. These include models based on the Skoda Vision IN and Volkswagen Taigun concepts. Both cars will be powered by a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine paired with either a manual or automatic transmission.
