A test mule of the Volkswagen Passat has been spotted. The car is likely to have a BS6-compliant engine under its bonnet.
The test car appears to have a redesigned front bumper, a grille with horizontal chrome slats and wraparound headlamps.
In October 2019, there were reports suggesting that the Passat had been discontinued from the Indian market. The old BS4-compliant model was powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine producing 174 BHP @ 3,600-4,000 rpm and 350 Nm @ 1,500-3,500 rpm. The engine was paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The Passat BS6 is expected to be launched sometime in 2020.
