The new Chevrolet Cruze was spotted testing in India recently. While, General Motors have decided to pull out of the Indian market by the end of this year, their test program for future models destined for South-East Asian markets is still in full swing.
The 2018 Chevrolet Cruze was thought to be the car to replace the current Cruze in India. The new model has been completely redesigned and is based on an all-new platform which is lighter by almost 113 kg. Featuring GM's latest design language, the sleeker front fascia is more in-tune with the current generation GM products with the signature LED lights and a revised horizontal split-grille.
The 'Turbo' badge on the boot is a clear giveaway of the 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine under the bonnet. This LTZ variant sports a boot spoiler, alloy wheels, electric-folding mirrors and fog lamps. Inside, the new Cruze gets a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The new Cruze was spotted parked alongside the Spin MPV. The Maruti Ertiga rival was touted for launch this year but was shelved in favour of the Beat Activ which too was never launched here. General motors will use their manufacturing facilities in India for export markets.
