Mahindra plans to launch a new top-spec AX7 variant of the XUV700 without the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).
According to a leaked document, the new variant will be called AX7 Smart and will be positioned below the AX7 Luxury.
The AX7 Smart is expected to get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster. The SUV will also get features such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car tech with built-in Alexa voice assist, cruise control, a panoramic sunroof, and smart door handles.
In terms of safety features, the AX7 Smart is likely to get blind-spot monitoring, auto booster headlamps, a 360-degree camera, ABS with EBD and 6 airbags.
Apart from ADAS, this variant will also miss out on ESP, hill hold assist, hill descent control, knee airbag, drive modes, electronic parking brake, wireless charger, Drive Drowsiness Detection, and electric door handles with passive keyless entry.
The XUV700 comes with two engine options - 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol producing 197 BHP and 380 Nm and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that makes 182 BHP and 420 Nm (MT) / 450 Nm (AT). Both engines come with a choice of a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel-drive is also available as an option.
