Scania launches P440 8X4 tipper for Indian mining sector

Scania has launched the P440 8X4 20.2 Cu.m U-BODY tipper in India. The Swedish manufacturer claims that the tipper has been primarily developed for the specific challenges and the demanding environment of the Indian sub-continent.

Powered by a new 6-cylinder, 13 litre engine putting out 434 BHP, the tipper has a unique design that is claimed to increase the payload capacity by up to 5% and improve the fuel efficiency by almost 5%. The engine uses Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) Technology for BSIV compliance. The low-weight tipper body also aids in improving the stability by lowering the center of gravity. Scania claims that this tipper was designed to improve the productivity of mining tippers and improve the total operating economy.

The P440 U-Body has been tested for over 12,000 hours at various mines in India before being launched. The company also offers its Fleet Management Services and Driver Coaching Program for prospective buyers.
