S-Cross coming this July 2015

In our previous article we had reported that Maruti will unveil the new S-Cross at the 2015 IIFA Awards, in Malaysia. Now a media report suggests that production of this car has already begun and is likely to hit the showrooms in the first week of July 2015.

The S-Cross gets a dual slat chrome grille, projector headlamps and daytime running lights. It gets black cladding running along the lower portion of its bumpers and sides with silver skid plate; and have a ground clearance of about 200 mm.

The car is expected to come with a black dashboard with silver detailing. Higher variants are likely to come with features such as a multifunction steering wheel, climate control and keyless entry and go.

It is likely to be launched with a 1.6 litre petrol engine and a 1.3 litre or 1.6 litre diesel engine. There is no confirmation regarding the transmissions on offer.

The Suzuki S-Cross will go head-to-head against the Hyundai Creta which is scheduled to be launched on July 21, 2015 (link to news article). Customers looking for small-sized SUVs will soon have a wide range of offerings to choose from.
