Rumour: Volkswagen Polo GTI India launch in November

We had earlier reported that the Polo GTI cars are en route to India. Now, media reports suggest that Volkswagen India is planning to launch the Polo GTI in November this year. An official date of launch hasn’t yet been revealed.

Volkswagen had first showcased the Polo GTI at the 2016 Auto Expo in February. The automaker had confirmed its plans to launch the performance-oriented hatchback in the Indian market, though no specific time window had been revealed. The company will be bringing in only a limited number of units of the Polo GTI to India.

Powering the performance hatchback is a 1.8-litre TSI engine that is mated to a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG gearbox. Output figures stand at around 189 BHP. The car is capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in under 7 seconds.
