Rumour: Toyota Urban Cruiser launch in August 2020

According to a media report, Toyota might launch the Maruti Vitara Brezza-based Urban Cruiser in late July or August 2020.

Earlier this week, there were reports suggesting that Toyota's version of the Vitara Brezza could be called Urban Cruiser. The SUV, which will essentially be a re-badged Vitara Brezza, is expected to receive some design tweaks to differentiate it from Maruti's version.

On the exterior, the Urban Cruiser could get redesigned grille and bumpers. Parts such as the headlights and tail lights might receive minor tweaks, but the alloy wheels might be carried over unchanged. The SUV could get lighter colour interior with new graphics.

The Urban Cruiser is expected to be offered with the same 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol mild-hybrid powertrain from the Vitara Brezza. It produces 104 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm @ 4,400 rpm. The engine is expected to be paired with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.
