According to a media report, Toyota is evaluating the Supra sports car for the Indian market. It could be imported as a completely built unit (CBU).
The fifth generation Supra shares its underpinnings with the BMW Z4. The car gets LED headlights with L-shaped LED daytime running lights. It has a sloping roofline, flared wheel arches and at the rear, it gets a lip spoiler and triangular shaped tail lights. Depending on the variant, it comes with 17, 18 and 19-inch alloy wheels.
On the inside, the new Supra gets a 3-spoke steering wheel, an infotainment screen with slim AC vents below and a BMW iDrive-like rotary dial.
The Supra is powered by a 3.0-litre, turbocharged 6-cylinder engine that produces 335 BHP @ 5,000-6,500 rpm and 500 Nm @ 1,600-4,500 rpm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The Supra also comes with a smaller 4-cylinder engine.
