Tata could launch a new mid-variant of the Tigor compact sedan soon. The Tigor's XM variant is expected to reach showrooms by the end of this month.

Tata currently offers the Tigor in four variants - XE, XT, XZ and XZ (O). The Tigor XM will slot in between the XE and XT variants. The XM variant could be offered with similar features as the XM variant of the Tiago.

Reports suggest that the Tata Tigor XM will be available with both petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder Revotron petrol engine makes 84 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 114 Nm @ 3,500 rpm. The 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel engine produces 69 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque @ 1,800-3,000 rpm. Both engines are paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Tata hasn't officially announced any details about the Tigor's XM variant. That said, a soft launch is expected to be held soon.
