Rumour: Maruti Suzuki recall for steering column issue

According to a leaked document, Maruti Suzuki has silently recalled the Swift, Dzire, Baleno, Vitara Brezza and S-Cross for a faulty steering column.

The document does not mention the exact number of cars that are affected by this recall but lists out the VIN prefix, chassis and engine numbers.

If a vehicle reports to the workshop with sticky steering and abnormal noise, the service advisors have been asked to check if the vehicle is under the suspected VIN number range. The complete steering column has to be replaced on cars that are facing this issue.
