Rumour: Maruti S-Cross facelift to launch around Diwali '17

Maruti Suzuki will likely be launching the S-Cross facelift in India around the festive season this year (September - November 2017). This information was reportedly revealed by the company's executive director - research & development - Mr. C.V. Raman.

The S-Cross facelift was internationally unveiled in Hungary and was subsequently showcased at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The facelifted model was also spotted at the automaker's Gurgaon factory last month.

The mid-life update will bring some cosmetic changes to the exteriors of the crossover, most of which will be limited to the front fascia. The 2017 S-Cross is expected to get a new chrome-lined front grille with vertical slats, a tweaked bumper and new headlights with projectors and DRLs. The side and rear profiles will likely remain similar to that of the current model, except a new set of alloy wheels and some minor tweaks to the rear bumper and taillights.

On the inside, the S-Cross facelift is expected to feature an updated instrument cluster with a new MID screen, fresh seat upholstery with contrast-coloured stitching and new colour combinations for the dashboard.

Mechanically, the S-Cross facelift is likely to remain identical to the current model. As a result, the two engine options on offer will include the 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre diesel mills. Additionally, Maruti might also introduce a petrol variant to the S-Cross line-up, owing to the increasing demand of petrol options in the Indian market.
