Maruti Suzuki is reportedly replacing the steering assembly of the 2017 Dzire compact sedan. The company is said to have instructed dealerships to put all deliveries of the new Dzire on hold until the said replacement is done. It is not yet known whether the issue is present in all cars or limited to a specific batch.
The manufacturer is currently shipping new steering assemblies to its dealerships which have been advised to replace the same before delivering cars to customers. Meanwhile, all models in the factory are also being equipped with the new steering assembly, before they are shipped to dealerships across the country.
Maruti launched the new Dzire in India on May 16, 2017. The third-gen model of the sub-4 metre sedan, which has ditched the 'Swift' name, is available in two engine options - a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol and a 1.3-litre, four-cylinder diesel - both of which are available with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or an AMT unit.
