Rumour: Honda NX500 to be launched in India soon

The 2024 Honda NX500 replaces the CB500X in the brand’s ADV line-up.

The Honda NX500 is expected to be launched in India this year. A Honda BigWing dealer has sent text messages to prospective customers stating that the ADV “is going to launch very soon”.

The Honda NX500 was unveiled at EICMA 2023. It replaces the CB500X in the brand’s ADV line-up. The bike features a larger fairing with an LED headlamp and a windscreen. It also gets a new 5-inch digital instrument console that offers Bluetooth connectivity.

The NX500 is powered by a 471cc, parallel-twin engine, which now features a crank counterweight and balancer shaft. Honda claims these upgrades have made the engine smoother. It develops 47 BHP and 43 Nm. Honda has also updated the ECU for improved acceleration.

The NX500 is equipped with a 41 mm Showa upside-down fork and a monoshock at the rear. Braking is handled by dual 296 mm discs at the front and a single disc at the rear. The bike rides on lightweight wheels that are said to reduce unsprung weight by 1.5 kg, adding to an overall weight loss of 3 kg.
