Rumour: Citroen C5 Aircross to get 2.0L diesel engine

According to a media report, Citroen is likely to offer the C5 Aircross with a 2.0-litre diesel engine only.

Earlier, there were reports suggesting that Citroen was considering two diesel engines for the SUV. These included a 129 BHP, 1.5-litre engine and a 178 BHP, 2.0-litre motor. However, it is now believed that Citroen might offer the 2.0-litre engine only. It could be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The report further states that the 2.0-litre engine will be fully imported, which could drive up the price of the C5 Aircross.

In India, the C5 Aircross could be offered with a single trim option. It could get features such as headlamps with LED daytime running lights, panoramic sunroof, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit, digital instrument cluster, 2-zone automatic climate control, electronic parking brake, power driver's seat and hands-free tail gate.

The Citroen C5 Aircross is expected to compete with the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace, Skoda Kodiaq and the likes.
