Aprilia is reportedly planning to expand its SR range of scooters in the Indian market. Recent media reports suggest that the Italian two-wheeler maker will launch another product in the SR line-up next year. The Aprilia SR 150 is the company's first gearless scooter in the affordable two-wheeler segment.
It is still not clear whether the new SR would have a larger capacity engine, or will be smaller than the SR 150. It is likely that the company might introduce a smaller scooter named the SR 125, which will borrow its engine from the Vespa 125 scooter range.
The SR 150 was recently introduced in the Indian market at prices starting from Rs. 65,000 (ex-showroom). It will be sold through the Piaggio Vespa dealerships across the country. Currently, there are 100 such dealerships in India, while 50 more are expected to be added in 2017. The SR 150 will also be available at the MotoPlex multi-brand showroom in Pune, Chennai, Kochi and Hyderabad.
