Rumour: 2022 Maruti Baleno to get 6-airbags, heads-up display

Maruti Suzuki is expected to announce the prices of the 2022 Baleno facelift in February.

The upcoming Maruti Suzuki Baleno won't be a mere facelift version of the existing model. Reports suggest that the car will get new safety tech that should set it apart from the competition.

It is said that the 2022 Baleno will be equipped with 6 airbags, an electronic stability program (ESP) and a heads-up display. The hatchback will also get a larger touchscreen infotainment system with software is said to have been jointly developed with Toyota. It will offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The Baleno could be offered with the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.2-litre DualJet mild-hybrid engines. While a 5-speed manual transmission will be offered as standard, reports indicate that Maruti might discontinue the continuously variable transmission (CVT) and replace it with an AMT option.

Reports also suggest that the 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift could be launched next month.
