Royal Enfield has been testing a new motorcycle that has been labelled the Himalayan. The motorcycle was recently caught on test and though camouflaged, the test mule revealed multiple key details. The motorcycle has been snapped yet again and this time around, features an upward facing ‘off-road’ exhaust.
The motorcycle’s fascia and instrumentation are very similar to that of the Continental GT, as is the fuel tank. The engine is painted black and gets metallic finish bolts. In both spy shots seen until now, the rider’s leg has covered the engine, but the unit doesn’t seem to get a kick starter. Royal Enfield has also covered the new brand logo that featured on the crankcase in the previous spy shot.
The bike gets dual disc brakes and the chain and sprocket kit sits on the left side. The bike also gets thin rear cowl and rides on a mono-shock absorber rear suspension. The front forks bear a black powder coat and could offer longer travel. The motorcycle continues with the brand’s tradition of using wire wheels. While the front tyre could use a 19-inch wheel, the rear tyre has a wider track and smaller wheel (possibly 16 or 17-inch). The motorcycle also gets a pillion seat and rear footpegs, but no visible grab rails or recesses.
