The next-generation Royal Enfield Continental GT has been spied testing. Like the new Interceptor spotted earlier, the Continental GT also gets dual disc brakes at the front. Moreover, both bikes are also likely to be powered by a new 750cc engine.
As you can see, the latest test mule of the Continental GT was sporting a bikini fairing, which gives it a retro café racer look. The bike offers a sporty riding position courtesy of the rear-set footpegs and clip-on handlebars.
The new Continental GT is expected to be equipped with a single-pod digital instrument console. The test bike appears to have a longer seat and is fitted with dual upswept exhaust and alloy wheels.
Reports suggest that the next-gen Continental GT could use a larger 750cc parallel-twin engine, replacing the existing 650cc unit, which delivers 47 BHP and 52 Nm.
The suspension setup on the test mule looks fairly standard, with a telescopic fork at the front (no USD fork on this one) and dual shock absorbers at the rear. Brakes, as mentioned earlier, have been beefed up. The dual front discs should certainly improve the overall braking performance.
