Renault Kwid 1.0L spied on test

Renault displayed a more powerful version of the Kwid hatchback at the 2016 Auto Expo, held in February. Now, the car has been spotted testing in Chennai.

The Kwid SCe, as the 1.0-litre version will be badged, will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 and the Hyundai Eon 1.0L. If the spy image is anything to go by, the only external difference between the Kwid 1.0L and the 800cc model is the SCe badge on the hatch. While this car had a manual transmission, Renault will also introduce an AMT variant (Easy-R) version to keep up with the Alto K10.

Apart from the SCe, a test mule of the 800cc Kwid with more equipment has also been spotted. The car is seen with alloy wheels, indicating that a new variant of the car could also be on the cards.
