Renault has unveiled the Captur in India. The crossover is expected to go on sale this festive season. Now, the company has started accepting bookings from September 22, 2017. Customers can place orders through the Renault Captur App or on Renault India's website by paying an initial booking amount of Rs. 25,000.
The Captur is based on the M0 platform, which it shares with the Duster. The overall length of the crossover is 4,329 mm, while its width and height are 1,813 mm and 1,619 mm respectively. It has a wheelbase of 2,673 mm, an unladen ground clearance of 210 mm and fuel tank capacity of 50 litres. The car has a boot space of 392 litres, which is expandable to 1,352 litres.
The Captur will be equipped with features such as full-LED headlights and LED DRLs, sweeping indicators, LED tail lamps, 17-inch crystal cut alloy wheels, LED ambient lighting, automatic climate control, reverse parking camera and smart access card among others.
Renault will be introducing a top-of-the-line 'Platine' trim level in the Captur, which will get side air-conditioner vents with chrome accents and bezels with golden finish and white 6-way adjustable leather seats with golden accents.
Customers will be able to choose from two cosmetic personalisation packs for the Captur - Diamond Deck and Urban Connect. Renault is also offering cosmetic add-ons like chrome embellishments, lighting enhancements, illuminated scuff plates, interior finishes, roof decal designs and designer mats.
The Renault Captur will come with a choice of two engines. The first one is a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder H4KL petrol unit that develops 105 BHP @ 5,600 rpm and 142 Nm of torque @ 4,000 rpm. The second engine is a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder K9K diesel motor that produces 108 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 240 Nm of torque @ 1,750 rpm. The petrol engine comes paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the diesel gets a 6-speed manual transmission.
The suspension setup on the Captur comprises of MacPherson struts with coil springs in the front and twisted beam with coil spring and telescopic shock absorber at the rear. The 17-inch wheels come wrapped in 215/60 section tyres.
The Renault Captur will be offered with safety features such as ABS with EBD, brake assist, electronic stability control (ESC) and hill start assist. In addition to these, it also gets dual front airbags, side airbags and ISOFIX child seat anchors.
