Refreshed Jaguar XJ revealed

Jaguar has officially unveiled the refreshed XJ. On the surface, alterations to the XJ are not extensive and include full LED headlights, new LED tail lights and oval exhaust finishers. The model also sees the new R-Sport and range topping Autobiography variants join the line-up alongside XJ Luxury, Premium Luxury, Portfolio and XJR.

On the inside, the XJ gets a new InControl Touch Pro infotainment system. Features include door-to-door navigation, Wi-Fi and 1,300W Meridian Digital Reference audio. The Portfolio gains quilted soft-grain leather seats with diamond stitching, embossed headrests, and figured ebony veneer.

The Autobiography variant is only offered with a long wheelbase, and gets chrome front bumper air intakes and 20" Mataiva wheels. On the inside, the Autobiography gets custom insignia, quilted semi-aniline leather seats with contrast stitching, a leather headliner, and illuminated stainless steel scuff-plates, air vents and boot finisher. The new R-Sport variant features a three-piece front splitter, deep side sills, side vents and a rear spoiler. The R-Sport also features 20” Venom wheels.

The new XJ also gets an uprated 3.0L, V6 diesel engine, which now produces 296 BHP and 700 Nm of torque. The 3.0L V6 diesel XJ currently sold in India produces 271 BHP and 600 Nm of torque. Other engine options (depending on the market) will include a 2.0L, 4-cylinder petrol that makes 237 BHP, a 3.0L V6 petrol that makes 335 BHP, along with a 5.0L V8 that makes either 467 BHP, 503 BHP or 542 BHP.

The XJ will be manufactured at Jaguar Land Rover's Castle Bromwich Plant, alongside the F-Type and new XF.
