Porsche Macan R India launch on November 15

Porsche will be launching the Macan R in India on November 15, 2016. This variant will become the new entry-level model of the Macan SUV range in the country.

Currently, the Macan is offered in three variants in India: a 3.0-litre Macan S Diesel with 242 BHP, a 3.6-litre Macan Turbo Petrol with 396 BHP and a Macan Turbo Petrol with Performance Package that uses the same 3.6-litre engine but has 434 BHP on tap. All these models are priced upwards of Rs. 1 Crore.

The new Macan R will be slotted below this range, and will likely be powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine that will churn out 249 BHP and 370 Nm of torque. It will have a claimed 0-100 km/h sprint time of 6.7 seconds while the top speed will be rated at 229 km/h.

Porsche will most likely place it to compete against the recently unveiled Jaguar F-Pace.
