Porsche to launch 718 Cayman and Boxster in India on Feb 15

Porsche will be launching the new 718 Cayman and the 718 Boxster in India on February 15, 2017. The updated models get downsized engines and a few cosmetic tweaks.

The biggest change on the Cayman and Boxster range is the engine options available. Ditching the older model's flat-six units, Porsche has equipped the new models with turbocharged 4-cylinder engines. The India-spec cars will be offered with a 2.0-litre power plant that will churn out 296 BHP and 380 Nm of torque, while being mated to a 7-speed PDK gearbox. This new powertrain is capable of accelerating the car from 0-100 km/h in a company claimed time of 4.9 seconds.

With the new models getting smaller engines, the 718 range is expected to be less expensive than the outgoing models. Moreover, the new Boxster will be pricier than the Cayman, opposite to what was the case on the previous iteration.
