German luxury carmaker Porsche has launched the 911 Targa in India. The car is available in two variants - 911 Targa 4, priced at Rs. 1,59,00,000 and 911 Targa 4S, priced at Rs. 1,78,50,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The new Targa features a wide bar in place of the B-pillars, a removable roof section on top of the front seats and a wraparound rear windscreen with no C-pillars. The roof is fully automatic and can be opened or closed electrically.
The Targa 4 is powered by a 3.4-litre, six-cylinder petrol engine that produces 345 bhp and 390 Nm of torque. The Targa 4S is more powerful and sports a 3.8-litre, six-cylinder petrol power plant, putting out 394 bhp and 440 Nm. Both variants come with a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive as standard. Both cars can be ordered with an optional Sport Chrono Package. Equipped with this package, Porsche claims that the Targa 4 can do a 0-100 kph sprint in 4.8 seconds and touch a top speed of 282 kph, while the Targa 4S can go from 0-100 kph 4.4 seconds and achieve a top speed of 296 kph. Targa 4S customers can also opt for a Carrera S Powerkit that increases the car's power output by 30 bhp.
The 911 Targa 4 and Targa 4S are now available at all Porsche Centres in India.
