This independence day was a bit of a discovery and shock for me. As I carried out the routine cleaning and chain lubrication, I discovered that one of the Engine bolts was missing on the bike and the front mudguard was partially broken. The front mudguard issue could be due to the kids in our apartment, but I am not sure. However, what concerned was the engine bolt. I don't know how it was missing.
I suspect the Engine crash guard fitment trial at Gear Gear Motorcycles might have caused this, but I am not sure.
I contacted the Honda Big Wing service and to my disappointed they don't have it. They also mentioned that they can place orders only on Monday and Friday. Since Monday has been passed, they promised me that they will place the order on Friday.
So I went to Gear Gear Motorcycles (Near BikenBiker, Bangalore) and mentioned the same whether they have anything spare or not. These guys service and accessorize litre class bikes and thankfully they had one. I am not sure whether it is same or not, but for the time being it gives me some peace of mind.
At Gear Gear Motorcycles
The cost of the Engine bolt is only 85Rs while the mudguard is around 1.8K but Honda Bigwing really need to tidy their logistics. I have not cancelled the Engine bolt and mudguard, lets see how long Honda takes to bring the spares.
Some photos taken during the cleanup and chain lube. Diesel was used to clean the chain and I find it very good.
Before cleanup
Twice the application of diesel, cleaning brush, towel and elbow grease. Something I am proud of:
I highly recommend covering the floor with some disposable item. Chain cleaning and lubing are really messy.
