As part of the scheduled fortnightly fuel price revision, petrol prices in the country have been hiked by 13 paise per litre, while diesel has been cut down by 12 paise per litre. The said revision is excluding state levies. New prices have been made applicable from the midnight of November 30, 2016.
After this price revision, petrol in New Delhi is retailing at Rs. 66.10 per litre, while diesel is priced at Rs. 54.57 per litre.
The last revision was made on November 16, when petrol prices went up by Rs. 1.46, while diesel prices were hiked by Rs. 1.53 per litre.
Fuel prices in the country are revised on the 1st and 16th of every month. State-owned subsidiaries, including Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), and Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) study the USD-INR exchange rates and international crude oil prices to decide the required price revision.
