Ola, Uber cab information now on Google Maps

Users of the Ola and Uber taxi hailing apps can now access information on cab availability via the latest version of Google Maps. When you search for directions using the latest version of Google Maps on your mobile, Google Maps will show you a dedicated tab with information for cab services, in addition to the existing driving, public transport and walking options.

If the user has the app of Ola / Uber installed, they will not only see if a car is available near them, but also be able to see fare estimates and the pick-up time, as per the announcement made via Google's official blog. Uber users will be able to choose from uberGO and uberX services, while Ola customers can choose from Ola Mini, Ola Micro and Ola Sedan options.

Once you select a service, Google Maps will directly take you to the Uber or Ola app for you to request your ride with one tap. The cab availability will also be shown when a user is viewing the map in walking or transit mode. The option will be updated on Android first and will be added for iOS users soon.
