Nissan Magnite ASEAN NCAP crash test report & video

The Magnite scored 39.02 points for adult occupant protection and 16.31 points for child occupant protection.

ASEAN NCAP has released its detailed crash test report for the Nissan Magnite. Earlier this month, the car was awarded a 4-star safety rating.

The Magnite scored 39.02 points for adult occupant protection and 16.31 points for child occupant protection. In the Safety Assist category, the car scored 15.28 points, for an overall score of 70.60 points.

The front impact test showed that there was a risk of injury to the driver’s chest while the front passenger’s chest and lower legs received adequate protection. The SUV’s compartment remained stable in the frontal offset test. In the side impact test, the driver's chest had adequate protection.

The test car was equipped with 2 airbags, ESC, front seat belt reminder and ISOFIX. 

The Magnite is based on the CMF-A+ platform. In India, the Magnite is available with two engine options. These include a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that puts out 71 BHP @ 6,250 rpm and 96 Nm @ 3,500 rpm and a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol unit that makes 99 BHP @ 5,000 rpm and 160 Nm @ 2,800-3,600 rpm. Both engines are offered with a 5-speed manual transmission.
 
Additionally, the Magnite is also be offered with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) mated to a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. However, in the CVT version, peak torque has been limited to 152 Nm @ 2,200-4,400 rpm.
