Next-gen Mahindra Thar front-facing rear seats spied

The first spy images of the new Thar's front-facing rear seats have surfaced online. The car is also equipped with a hardtop.

The next-generation Thar is expected to get updated interiors including a new dashboard and updated front seats with side bolsters. The seats appear to be wrapped in fabric upholstery and have adjustable headrests. At the rear, the car has front-facing seats, unlike the outgoing model which comes with side-facing rear seats.

The hardtop roof appears to have sliding windows at the rear but is lacking interior trim. The car has a 3-spoke steering wheel and there are three rotary switches on the centre console.

The new Thar is expected to be based on the Gen3 chassis shared with the Scorpio and TUV300. It is likely to be offered with a BS-VI compliant 2.0-litre diesel engine, 6-speed manual gearbox and all-wheel drive.
