Hyundai is gearing up to launch the next-generation Verna in the Indian market next month. A new image from the factory suggests that production of the mid-size sedan has already commenced.
The next-gen Verna will be offered with two engine options. These include a 1.5-litre petrol paired with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed iVT and an all-new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT.
The design of the new Verna is based on Hyundai’s ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ philosophy. The car gets an Elantra-inspired front end with a large grille and a strip of LED daytime running lights running across the front fascia.
The Verna gets sharp feature lines on the side similar to Tucson, while the rear fascia comprises of slim L-shaped taillights with an LED light bar.
Prices for the new Verna will be announced on March 21, 2023. It will compete with the Skoda Slavia, VW Virtus and Honda City.
