The wait continues for the actuator to arrive. Since the last full charge (Reported on 14th Aug) did a SoC discharge till 14% and charged back to 100 %SoC. The discharge from 100-14 proceeded without any surprises and the abrupt jumps in charging is now just about 3% at 96% as opposed to about a 20 % SoC in the last charging (see graphs attached). There are two possible conclusions
1. The BMS managed to successfully balance the cells and another cycle should lead back to status quo ante.
2. The sudden drop could have moved to under 10% SoC region, which means it is unlikely to be exercised often but can pop up any time. If only taking to below 10% is not as traumatic, it would have been a much better story.
The actuator is still giving trouble and I will replace it when the part comes but the car as of now is pretty usable. One or two charge discharge cycles should give more confidence.
The last charging cycle. Notice the sudden jump at the fag end of the charging (about 3% SoC).
This is the previous charging graph. No error was shown during the charging cycle but there is a sudden jump in the charging graph of about 20%.
The overall charging-discharging graph. You can clearly see the abrupt discharge as well as the fast discharge.
Final Update
Replaced the Charging gun locking actuator in Warranty. Slow charging is problem free. Need to check fast charging. The SoC drop and other issues got sorted out automatically (BMS took care of it)
