The previous B6 bought from Pete's had gotten harder and eventually lost their gas in June. Since then, the B4s have been doing their duty which has been great. The main difference/advantage that B6 offers is the super-quick rebound action which means the car doesn't sway side to side at all. This would be felt like a 'harsh' ride or lateral jerk due to such a high rebound rate. The feel is very subjective and to me, once bitten nothing else would do The new B6s are 55mm since I have an upgraded brake set-up. The rear B6 set has been doing fine since 2018.
Last time when I upgraded the wheels to 18 incher Lensos, I had to make do with the Bridgestone Potenza in 245 45 R18 as I always wanted Michelins which weren't available in any of the sizes I wanted. The Primacy 4 on my previous 17 inchers were superb in terms of ride comfort, braking etc. I needed a 50 or 55 profile but with 18 inchers, there isn't enough space in the front wheel well. Got some trimming done (at Grid7 who were kind enough to spare a person and equipment for 3 hours for the job with me) in the front wheel well and tried out the following:
The Yeti feels faster, and my goodness, the combination PS5 + B6 is unmatched.
At Lotus Automobile in Kochi (my trusted FNG). On complete dismantling, they found none of the bushed and rods needed replacement. The Yeti OE parts are robust as the existing ones are better than the aftermarket alternatives and hence decided to put them all back. Nothing replaced at all. These guys know what they do and I trust them completely.
Also did some detailing on the panel around the fog lights. Got the blackening done to the fog light assembly too. Looks even better now.
It has arrived and I know how important it is to have one in-house with a stage -3 Skoda in hand. Installed the app and basic scan et all is quite easy.
Haven't done any long trips yet! Will be back in 2 weeks and will look to do a few then. A parting shot (captured by Grid7 after Graphene service)
