My Maruti Suzuki Jimny: Ownership experience after 2,000km

I got a Maruti Suzuki Jimny Alpha AT in white for 14L OTR in mid January and have put some 2,000 odd kilometers on it.

BHPian Sheel recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

Post delivery got the tires changed to Geolandar AT (LT ones on purpose). Next day, got the footsteps / rocksliders from Bimbra as parents may need to hop on the SUV.

I don't usually take it to highways, it's mostly for commuting and going to work.

Few observations -

- AC is a chiller

- OE music system is average

- Turning radius is huge (I have a 4X4 Scorpio so in comparison to that)

- Rear camera should have been better (my erstwhile Swift ZXi+ had better)

- LED headlamps are average (the Swift Zxi+ had better)

- Have sat at the rear once (for ~10 kms) and it's not for full grown adults (I am 5'9 at 77 kgs)

- A parcel tray should have been provided

- There is no storage space to speak of, I had to add them aftermarket

- The rear seat belt chime is irritating. I have clipped on the belt and left it as it is. Rear occupancy in my use case is rare & only for very short commutes (~ 5 kms round trip types)

- Jimny is built well. I go to rural areas with very patchy / no-roads condition & I don't usually slow down, no rattles / squeaks (surprisingly it was absent on my Swift ZXi+ too, but I drove it carefully over its 35,xxx kms it was with me)

- It does turn heads wherever it goes

- I prefer to take my other SUV if it involves fast highway driving over better roads.

- Jimny does grow on you

- My infotainment shows just over 9 KMPL (for those interested)

- The UV cut glass is a boon in maintaining temperature as well as some privacy. Parked under hot sun, it does not get as hot as other vehicles.

That's it for now. Will add some pictures later, especially after getting a new grill. Current one does not look very good IMO.
