Mumbai Coastal Road Phase 2 to open for traffic on June 10

The Mumbai Coastal Road project is being built at a cost of Rs 12,721 crore.

According to media reports, the second phase of the Mumbai Coastal Road will be open for traffic on June 10. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced this during a recent visit to the site.

Shinde inspected a leakage in the southbound tunnel, which opened for traffic in the first phase. He later spoke to the media, announcing the date for the opening of the second phase between Marine Drive and Worli.

The CM said that the leakages observed at the expansion joints of the tunnel would be plugged using polymer grouting. He also suggested polymer grouting on all 25 expansion joints of the tunnel to avoid water seepage.

The Mumbai Coastal Road project is being built at a cost of Rs 12,721 crore. It connects South Mumbai with the suburbs in the north via the Banda-Worli Sea Link. Once completed, it is expected to ease congestion on the arterial roads.
