Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the S-Cross in India. While an official launch date will be announced soon, interactions with a few sales executives during a training session have revealed more details on the new model.

Given below is the information acquired from those interactions:

- The S-Cross will be launched in July.

- All four wheels will be equipped with disc brakes.

- Electronic Stability Program (ESP) will not be offered.

- The All-Wheel Drive (AWD) option will not be be offered at launch.

- The in-car entertainment system will get a touch screen interface with satellite navigation.

- Cruise control will be offered.

- The vehicle will get 60:40 splitting rear seats.

- The S-Cross will ride on 16'' alloy wheels wrapped around by 205 cross section tyres.

Engine, transmission and variant options remain unconfirmed, but rumours suggest the inclusion of 1.3L and 1.6L diesel engines. The S-Cross will be a premium offering from Maruti, hence an automatic transmission is likely to be offered, apart from the standard manual.

The S-Cross will be sold under Maruti's new premium brand called NEXA. Another insider writes in to say that the bookings have not officially begun anywhere. All S-Cross bookings will be initiated and served by NEXA dealers only. This is something interested buyers should be informed about, in case they are considering paying a booking amount to a current dealer.
