More details: Next-gen Kia Optima (K5)

In November 2019, Kia unveiled the next-generation K5 (Optima) sedan. Now, they have released more details on the car.

On the inside, the sedan gets a single-tone or dual-tone interior with cloth, synthetic leather or leather upholstery. It comes equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen head unit, an 8.0-inch head-up display, heated steering wheel and seats, ambient lighting, wireless phone charger and a 12-speaker BOSE surround-sound audio system.

Powering the Optima is a range of turbocharged and naturally aspirated petrol engines varying from 1.6-litres to 2.5-litres. All engines are paired to 6-speed or 8-speed automatic transmissions. The 2.5-litre turbocharged engine produces 286 BHP and 422 Nm and is paired to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Kia claims that the 0-100 km/h time for the car is 6.6 seconds. All-wheel drive is available in some variants. At a later date, hybrid variants of the Optima will also  be available.

The car comes with 9 airbags, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA), which enables drivers to move the car in and out of parking spaces autonomously with the key fob.
